About the Forum
We live at a strange moment in history – in a world stripped of much of its confidence and assurance of progress. A world that has defined the good life as one of greater wealth and enjoyment of the pleasures it directly and indirectly brings. Even Christians struggle with how to realistically identify and order our loves, and therefore of our pursuit of living. It has been said that in order to die well, one must live well – a sentiment more poignant in these current days. Perhaps more to the point, this becomes truly significant in the years and decades ahead when this is past. Columbia University physician and medical ethicist is in the frontlines of caring for patients in New York City with the coronavirus. In this talk, Lydia will draw from a medieval text to offer guidance and hope during this anxious time.
