Dear Christian Union New York Cornerstone Partners and friends of the ministry,
We have been so deeply encouraged by the commitment to pray that has steadily grown over the last 1.5 years! The Lord has been pleased to pour out His Spirit in the form of increased hunger for Him, repentance, joy, and deeper fellowship. This is due in part to the commitment on the part of many of you to pray and fast, to attend our prayer meetings, to read and heed the monthly prayer letters. Thank you for making these commitments! The prayers, however, are just part of the story. The Lord is raising up leaders who are living in dependence upon God by making prayer the foundation for Christian Union New York. Our desire is to follow the Apostle Paul’s exhortation in 1 Timothy 2:1, to make “supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people.”
This month we ask for your continued prayers for the following:
- Christian Union New York seeks to serve Christian leaders who are already working in the marketplace by helping them think Christianly about their vocations, grow in their faith, and impact the culture for Christ. We launched our Christian Union New York Leadership Forum in January of 2018. Please pray that these forums would continue to be an effective means of reaching and discipling Christian leaders in New York City.
- Please continue to pray for our Christian Union New York Bible Courses. More and more men and women are signing up to learn how to study the Bible and think Christianly about their vocations. We currently have 4 Bible courses meeting weekly in offices in midtown and downtown NYC. Please pray that each of these courses would continue to be a place where God’s Spirit is poured out and where participants can be discipled in their faith.
- We are hosting a Christmas Dinner for all Christian Union New York Bible Course participants. Please pray that this would be a fun night of fellowship that serves to strengthen relationships among participants and Christian Union faculty.
- We are asking God to bring spiritual awakening to New York City and to our nation! Please join us in praying for revival, 15 minutes per day, for at least one month.
