Professor to Explore Fasting at Upcoming Event
The upcoming Salon will take place Wednesday, February, 27, 2019, at 7 pm. Please RSVP for event location.
Fasting: Personal Torture or Connection to God?
“I hate fasting!” is an almost universal response to this spiritual discipline. Usually, however, it is followed by “but I love what it does for me.” Join us at this salon with Professor of Theology at Nyack College, Dr. Amy Davis Abdallah, as we explore the biblical underpinnings of fasting, ancient and modern writers on it, best practices, and its connection to Lent. Hopefully, it will develop a “hunger” for what fasting does for our connection to God.
