Bonhoeffer on Community: Its Problems and Promise

7:00 – 9:00 p.m
Admission is free but RSVP is required.
Dr. Gordon Isaac, Berkshire Associate Professor at Gordon-Conwell Seminary addresses the topic: Bonhoeffer on Community: Its Problems and Promise. Bonhoeffer takes up the question of community throughout his career from his dissertation, Sanctorum Communio, to his last written messages from prison. The young theologian seeks to understand the nature of the church as “Christ existing as community.” In this salon we will follow this provocative concept in Bonhoeffer’s thinking through several of his major writings in order to deepen our own reflection on the nature of Christian community for today.
