Jake Thomas

Christian Union Ministry Director

Jake completed his undergraduate and graduate studies in Ohio and Pennsylvania with a focus on educational psychology and counseling. During his college years, his life was transformed through involvement in a campus ministry—where he came to faith in Christ and sensed a clear call to disciple others through on-campus Bible studies, particularly among his classmates and fellow student-athletes.

Professionally, Jake holds both a Master of Education (M.Ed.) and an Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) degree. For more than a decade, he has served in public, private, and higher education settings as a school psychologist and counseling faculty member, integrating faith, learning, and personal growth in his work with students and families.

Jake, his wife Alyssa, and their five children spent a year in New Jersey, where he served as the Men’s Ministry Fellow with Christian Union Nova at Princeton University. They now live just outside Ithaca, New York, where they enjoy good books, time outdoors, and serving together in their church and local community.

As the Ministry Director of Christian Union Vita at Cornell University, Jake is grateful for the opportunity to be used by the Lord to share the gospel, strengthen and encourage students in their faith, and cultivate Christ-centered leadership. He is passionate about equipping students to grow as spiritual leaders who live with wholehearted devotion to Christ—leaders who seek the Lord earnestly and serve others faithfully in every sphere of influence.
