In the midst of the excitement and expectations, we want to extend the peace and power of Christ. Here are some specific ways to pray.
- Peace in Christ. Whether they enter this academic year from a summer of fun and distraction or from difficult circumstances, our students need to find their ultimate peace and joy in Christ alone. Please pray that our students will rejoice in the Lord and look to God to guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (John 14:27; Phil. 4:4-9).
- Power in Christ. The students at HLS are some of the brightest men and women in the world. This intellectual ability, however, must come under the lordship of Christ if our students are to bear good fruit and accomplish good works. Please pray that our students will abide in the love of Christ through joyful obedience and thereby know that they are walking in his provision of grace and strength to accomplish the good works set before them (John 15:7-11; Eph. 1:8-10; 6:10-18).
- Abundance in Christ. As Christian Union begins its fifth academic year at HLS, please join us in praying for a faithful and fruitful ministry, asking the Lord to increase student participation and transformation by blessing new efforts to build community, encourage a Seeking God lifestyle, and saturate the campus with the gospel.
“Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” (Eph. 3:20-21)
