“For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace.” – John 1:16
As we press on in another semester at Harvard Law, we are continually in awe of the depths of God’s radical grace. This grace—undeserved, unrelenting, and transformative—has been the heartbeat of our studies, our fellowship, and our ministry this year. It is shaping us as we learn not only to receive it but to extend it to others in a world desperately in need of the gospel.
Through our study in Jonah, we have marveled at the depths of God’s mercy, even toward those who resist Him. Jonah’s story is not just about a prophet’s reluctance but about the boundless compassion of God, reaching to the most unlikely people—including us. Each week, we have been challenged to see how God’s grace reshapes our own hearts and calls us to extend His love beyond our comfort zones — leading us to ask, “Who or where is our ‘Nineveh’ that God is calling us to?”
Our CS Lewis Reading Group has been wrestling through Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s The Cost of Discipleship, a timely and convicting reminder that grace is free, but never cheap. Bonhoeffer compels us to see that true discipleship demands surrender, obedience, and deep trust in the Lord’s purposes. Future leaders and lawyers are learning what it means to follow Christ with integrity, even when it costs us.
The Women’s Group has been walking through the book of Esther, discovering God’s sovereign hand in the unseen and the unexpected. Esther’s courage and faithfulness remind us that we, too, have been placed where we are “for such a time as this.” Similarly, our 1L Men’s group has been studying Galatians, anchoring themselves in the true gospel—grace alone through faith. Their discussions have been rich and convicting, as they explore what it means to live in the freedom Christ has won for us.
As we reflect on this year, we are especially grateful for our faithful student leaders who have served on the CU Gloria Law board. Their commitment, sacrifice, and heart for the Lord have strengthened this ministry in countless ways. Through their leadership, we have seen students encouraged in their faith, challenged in their calling, and equipped to stand firm as Christians in the legal profession. They have boldly proclaimed Jesus among their classmates and peers, and challenged the CU community to be faithful in sharing the hope that we have in Christ—because lives are at stake.

Now looking ahead, we are eager and expectant for the team that will take up the mantle next year. We believe God has called them for such a time as this—to be bold in faith, steadfast in prayer, and unwavering in their commitment to Christ. They desire to build upon the foundation that has been laid down this year—making Jesus the most talked-about person on campus.
Finally, we are deeply grateful for you—our partners in prayer, encouragement, and support. If you feel led, we invite you to:
- Pray – Pray for our students to remain strong in faith, to be salt and light on this campus, and to grow in boldness as they engage with others about Jesus.
- Encourage - If you have wisdom or experience to share, consider mentoring or connecting with students who seek to integrate their faith into their future legal careers. We’d love to have you come back to campus to share with our current students, if you’re in town!
- Give - Your financial support enables us to continue hosting Bible courses, personal discipleship meetings, and outreach events that impact students and the HLS community for Christ.
Thank you for believing in this mission and for standing with us in this calling. Your support ensures that CU Gloria Law continues to be a place where students encounter God’s truth and grace in a transformative way.
With gratitude and joy,
Justin Yim
