Greetings from Princeton!

We are under two weeks away from our annual Pre-Retreat, which will mark the official start of our fall season of ministry at the university.  This particular retreat is an opportunity for some of our core leaders to gather together before classes start.  We want them to be refreshed spiritually through biblical teaching and worship, connect relationally through the fellowship a retreat affords, and prepare to approach the fall season with outward-looking hearts and minds for the sake of inviting freshmen into Christian community.  We would ask for your prayers for a powerful and encouraging time away together!

By God’s grace, we’re also excited to introduce you to two new members of our full-time staff team here at Princeton.  God has provided two godly and gifted individuals to serve in this strategic ministry:

  • Lane Young joins us from Wheaton, Illinois, where he most recently served three years as the Youth Director at Church of the Resurrection.  Lane brings rich professional and ministry experience to our team, as he has also served as a missionary in Germany, worked as a small business owner, and served in the military as well.  Lane is married to Michelle, and they have three children in their twenties.
  • Kori Porter comes from Lansing, Michigan, where she has served for the past two years as Associate Campus Director for Spartan Christian Fellowship at Michigan State (a ministry of University Reformed Church in Lansing).  Before that, Kori studied theology at Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, Mississippi, and attended Ole Miss for her undergraduate degree. Many of our students are engaged in key internships stateside, as well as short-term work, study, and internship opportunities internationally.  Would you join us in praying for safety for all PFA students who are traveling this summer, as well as growth in godliness, prayer, and courage for Jesus Christ?  We are praying for God’s consistent guiding hand in their lives and hearts, as he calls them into deeper relationship with His Son.
We are thrilled to add Lane and Kori to our team here, and ask that you would pray for a smooth transition to Princeton for both of them.  The students who have met them have already connected well, and we anticipate rich and meaningful years of ministry, teaching, leadership, and service for Lane and Kori at Princeton.  They are both dynamic, likable, and, most of all, deeply committed to loving students and pointing them to God’s truth and life!

Friends, we covet your prayers as this year begins.  We have three wonderfully strong returning classes, and we believe we are poised to have more impact and reach than ever before on this campus, all for the glory of Jesus Christ and His gospel.  Would you pray that many freshmen students would decide to join Bible courses this fall, to study the Gospel of Mark and be taught and discipled by our ministry fellows?  Would you pray that dozens (and more) students commit their hearts and lives to Jesus Christ this year, and begin preparing to emerge from Princeton as lights for Him in this world?

We are deeply grateful for your prayers, support, and friendship.  Many blessings to you!
