Even as the spring semester comes to a rapid close, we have had a flurry of great events here, and the campus is buzzing with spiritual conversations! In mid-March we hosted CU Proclaim!, a week of evangelism training and evangelism on campus where students at Princeton and students visiting from CU Lux at Yale, CU Vox at Dartmouth, and CU Lumine at Columbia honed their skills and boldly proclaimed the gospel across Princeton’s campus!
We set up a prayer booth in Frist Campus Center, passed out bibles and books such as Mere Christianity, had dozens of one-on-one conversations, and invited as many people as possible to come to our Friday night grand finale! We partnered with Pastor Carter Conlon and the Summit Worship band to put on a worship concert outside on the South Lawn of Frist Campus Center! This drew over 300 people, who heard Pastor Carter preach the gospel and give an invitation to follow Christ. Over 15 hands were raised to commit their lives to Christ! Praise God! Many came to our booth afterward and signed up for Bible courses too! As an added bonus, about 100 Muslim students were gathered inside Frist cafeteria to celebrate Ramadan, who could see and hear our worship, many of whom later came outside and asked about what we were doing! Please pray that the gospel would continue to spread throughout the Muslim community here at Princeton.
Just earlier this month, we were honored to host Dr. James Tour, a world-renowned chemist from Rice University, for a talk on “Scientific Evidence for the Existence of God.” We invited many professors from the chemistry, biology, molecular biology, and other departments to come, and many did! We had around 150 people in attendance in the Frick Chemistry Lab lecture hall. Dr. Tour gave a compelling presentation and ended with an argument for the resurrection of Jesus Christ. He then knelt and prayed for those who would join in asking the Lord to reveal himself to them. Dr. Tour then answered questions from the audience. Please continue to pray for the gospel to go forth boldly on Princeton’s campus, for our students as they follow up with spiritual conversations with roommates and classmates, and for the Lord to continue to draw many at Princeton into His Kingdom!
