Dear Prayer Partners,
The fall air is noticeably "in the air" as mornings are cooler and the streets of New Haven are alive again. Christian Union's ministry here at Yale has kicked off the new semester with a pre-retreat of students leaders. We got away for three days together to hear from one another about all that God had done in each student's life this summer, as well as what we hope He will do at Yale this fall. There was great enthusiasm and energy for prayer and outreach--both critical aspects of a thriving ministry this year.
Back on campus, after the retreat, students hosted a midnight pancake party to give the freshmen a taste of college life while also giving them life-giving fellowship and a glimpse into what Christian fellowship on campus can look like.
Please pray for the upcoming semester, and particularly the first month, as we reach out to freshmen and try to meet as many as we possibly can! We hope to see every Christian freshman connect with some Christian ministry and especially to see many join Yale Faith & Action (Christian Union's ministry at Yale) for in-depth Bible study, deeper commitment to seeking the Lord, and leadership development--we pray that the young lives we encounter would become young lives dedicated to Christ and His purposes in this world, and one day, godly Christian leaders transforming society. Please pray for our amazing new staff, Clay Cromer and Chitra Kovoor, that they would adjust quickly to the culture of Yale and confidently walk in the Lord's love and their unique gifts as they reach out to freshmen. Pray that our students would continue to seek the Lord, day after day and year after year, as they seek and find the lost on Yale's campus.
Thank you for your prayers,
Jane Hendrickson
