Dear Prayer Partners,

As I write this update, Clay and the Yale team are in the midst of their pre-retreat with student leaders!  Before classes start, the student leaders and the CU staff come together to reconnect with each other, the Lord, and the mission to reach Yale's campus with the gospel of Christ Jesus.  In particular, they'll be strategically focusing on hospitality and outreach to the first-year students.  Join me in praying that this time would be fruitful in terms of their relationships with each other, the Lord, and in stirring up these leaders to boldly proclaim the Lord and minister to their classmates.

When the team returns from pre-retreat, we'll be embarking on another exciting time of welcoming first year students.  The students have planned some fun and creative ways to spread the word and help new students find us.  Especially pray for the "dorm drop" during August 28-30.  Every freshman will receive a copy of the Gospel of Luke, helpful little items for living in the dorms, and an invitation to our block party on Friday, August 31.  The block party is a flagship event during the early Fall Semester where all are welcome to come join us for a free dinner and to check out the Mouse (the student center) where we'll also be having our first Rooted (weekly worship service).  It is our desire that the hospitality of Christ would be evident and that students will feel at home with us.  Pray that the sowing of the Word, through the Gospel of Luke, would encourage believers to seek out Christian community, draw in non-believers to seek Christ, and that people would receive it and be drawn to respond.

Pray that the Lord would prepare and equip the ministry staff and the student leaders for a flood of divine appointments with people hungry to know Jesus.  Pray for their endurance and reliance on the Spirit for this work.  We are hoping to intersect as much of the Class of 2022 as possible with the gospel.
