Dear Prayer Partners,
We’re in the 4th full week of the semester — classes are in full swing, fall weather is here, and the students are feeling quite harried with all the demands on them! Thank you for each of your remembrances and prayers for us and the ministry here at Yale and thank you for lifting up our students. Someday we’ll all have a better view into how much Christ has truly been holding all things together!
Our “freshmen outreach” campaign is officially over as of yesterday, and by God’s grace, we have more first-years in a Bible Course than we’ve had in 5 years. God is growing this community, and we are so thankful! And yet, there is still room for more in our Bible Courses, so would you pray that God would continue to draw students, especially through the encouragement of their friends in CU? This is usually a time of year where people become more scared or even drop out, but would you pray with us that students would really want to be more available to God? As we’re studying in the book of Hebrews, we want the students to “draw near to God” and “hold fast to their confession”.
Our staff needs lots of wisdom as we teach Hebrews, disciple as many students as possible, and coach our student leaders. We depend on the Holy Spirit’s constant help and filling to be continually ready for this and the other work he has called us to do. Knowing when to listen, when to speak up, how to counsel, support and advise, how to challenge and rebuke, etc. requires us to be in step with his Spirit. Could you ask God to grace us with this “wisdom from above”?
Finally, pray for our Fall Retreat, Oct 12-14. We’ll be back at the Incarnation Center (about 45 min from campus). This retreat is in a new time slot and we pray it will be a powerful shot in the arm for our community to be offsite and hearing from God together. Pray that we would have a strong turnout (that God would draw exactly who He wants to be there) and pray for the Lord to speak powerfully through Chris White, our speaker for the weekend.
May the Lord affirm, strengthen, and establish you. He is great and worthy to be praised!
Warmly,
Clay Cromer
