Dear Cornerstone Partners and friends of CU Lux,
Many blessings from Christian Union Lux at Yale University! Thank you for your faithfulness in continuing to support us with your fervent prayers.
If you have been praying for Yale students this semester, know that God listens and answers. God has carried and sustained our students with his tremendous grace and goodness.
Imagine students coming together for worship. This Easter, we were honored to participate in an inter-ministry worship event. It was a beautiful and powerful time of unity and worship among many Christian groups across Yale. Students were excited to glorify God and celebrate the resurrection of Jesus together as people of one faith, one Lord, and one baptism.
Imagine students coming together for weekly prayer. Each Saturday, our CU ASK weekly prayer initiative was a great source of spiritual encouragement and nourishment. ASK stands for “Ask, Seek, Knock” and is inspired by Luke 11:9, “So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” With this verse in mind, students gathered in prayer to intercede for our campus and cultivate a seeking God lifestyle.
Imagine students coming together for a fast. CU Lux students also fast on the first weekend of every month. The fasting lasts from 12:00 am to 6:00 pm on Saturdays and Sundays, and we gather in the CU ministry house to pray before heading to a dining hall to break the fast in the evening. Our Father delights in giving good gifts to those who ask Him, for when we draw near to Him, He will draw near to us.
Imagine students serving the least of us. Our last Encounter of the year is dedicated to the ongoing crisis in Ukraine. We interviewed two Ukrainian pastors about how God is moving and growing his church during this crisis, offering a space for community members from across Yale to come together to lift the church of Ukraine in prayer.
Imagine students showing hospitality. Bulldog Days is one of the biggest events for our campus, designed to showcase the many facets of the undergraduate experience for newly admitted students. Our community organized special events, including two Sunrise Prayer meetings, a 3D Mafia Night, and a Karaoke Night, to welcome and bless the prefrosh. Forty-six students expressed interest in signing up for our fall Bible courses.
The good news is that human flourishing is possible in Jesus Christ, and God’s kingdom is extended here at Yale.
Thank you for partnering with us in the work of His ministry at Yale.
Blessings,
Ben Pascut
