Vaclav Havel, in his essay Politics, Morality, and Civility, shares his thoughts on how society is established to produce a flourishing culture. Having come out of a dark period of communist rule that chose many of the tools and structures of a democratic system and turned them to other ends Havel knew well that structures ultimately rest on something much more fundamental. They rest on morality – our understanding of good and evil, and the willingness to pursue that which is good. Havel calls “living in truth”.
On Saturday, May 6, 2017, Christian Union hosted its May Salon at Archegos Capital/Grace and Mercy Foundation Office, in The New York Times building. Attendees heard from Bob Doll, Chief Equity Strategist, Nuveen Asset Management, LLC. In his talk, Doll explores what redemptive finance might mean here in New York.
Christian Union Hosts Annual Conference for Students, Professionals
This spring, approximately 250 students from some of the nation's leading universities and marketplace professionals from key cities gathered for Christian Union's Nexus Conference to "draw near to the throne of grace." The conference, based on Hebrews 4:16, was held April 7-9 at the Marriott Hotel in Stamford, Connecticut.
Attendees entered into powerful worship, heard from an array of dynamic speakers, and participated in breakout sessions and seminars that examined how faith and culture intersect.
Jim Black, Christian Union's Ministry Director at Columbia University, spoke at an event in Phoenix, Arizona, as a featured Bible teacher. During his talk, he delved into the concept of God’s grace, conveying that it is not just a source of deliverance, but a source of strength in times of strife.

The Christian Union Conference on Faith and Action 2017 gathered together 300 undergraduates from select universities for a weekend of inspiring speakers, thought-provoking panels, in-depth seminars, and powerful worship. The following are the plenary messages that amplified the theme, drawn from Hebrews 4:16: "Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need."
