Kayla & Andrew Ferguson, Harvard Law School '17
"We had only recently become engaged when we both applied and were admitted to Harvard Law School—and still only newlyweds when we began our studies.
We were inspired by the rich Christian legacy at Harvard, and we felt called to rekindle spiritual passion at this historic law school while training to live out our faith in the legal field.
Harvard Law School is a very different environment from the Christian college were we met as undergraduates, but there is great potential here.
Christian Union provides us with the opportunity to grow by studying Scripture deeply, and through speakers, readings, and in-depth discussions to explore how to bring the Christian worldview to bear in a field that is losing touch with the values that shaped many of our legal principles in the first place.
This summer, we interned in Washington, D.C., and participated in legal training through a nonprofit dedicated to protecting religious liberty, the sanctity of life, marriage and family.
After law school, we will return to Washington, D.C., to continue working in litigation, and perhaps someday work in the area of religious freedom issues.
Our primary goal is to be available for whatever God has for us. We are just aiming high and trusting God to open the doors."
