CU Lux Will Host Carter Conlon of Times Square Church

Christian Union Lux will host the Worldwide Prayer Meeting on Wednesday, April 19, 2023. The Worldwide Prayer Meeting began in 2015 as a prayer ministry of The Times Square Church in NYC. For the past eight years, the gathering has challenged believers to seek the Lord in prayer, crying out to Him on behalf of their churches, families, and nation.
Every Wednesday, the meeting gathers either at Times Square Church or at a different location to spend time in worship and prayer. Led by Times Square Church Pastor Carter Conlon, the General Overseer of the Worldwide Prayer Meeting, the event allows people around the world to submit prayer requests and join the live stream from around the world. The prayer gathering broadcasts to more than 100,000 people across many countries.
In early 2023, CU Lux Ministry Director Jeffrey Walsh reached out to the Worldwide Prayer Meeting to see if Christian Union’s ministry at Yale could host the powerful event. CU Lux has been praying fervently for revival at Yale for the past several years, seeking the Lord for a fresh move of His Spirit among students who are desperate for the gospel.
Excited by the fervor of CU Lux, the Worldwide Prayer Meeting will join CU Lux and other campus ministries on Yale’s campus on Wednesday, April 19. The prayer event, entitled Rekindle, has been organized by students from several ministries at Yale, including CU Lux, Chi Alpha, United Church of Westville, and Black Church at Yale. Students are eager to provide a time for intercession for Christians at Yale, unbelieving friends, professors, and the Yale campus.
The focus for the evening is inspired by Acts 3:19-20a, “Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.” The evening will also feature student-led worship, testimonies, and prayer with the hope of rekindling a passion to see the name of Jesus lifted high at Yale. After a series of tragic events this semester, Christians at Yale have been crying out to the Lord for mercy, grace, and that many would be saved.
In an unprecedented move, the meeting will be open to the general public to attend. Sign-ups for the event can be done here. If you are interested in traveling to the event from NYC, Times Square Church is providing transportation for those who sign up here.
