Friends,

On March 15 we had the privilege of partnering with Aletheia Church here in Providence to bring Dr. Brian Miller, Research Director at Discovery Institute, to Brown’s campus to talk with students on “How Science Points to a Creator.” Dr. Miller, a physicist with degrees from MIT and Duke, presented a 45-minute-long lecture, which covered everything from cosmology to physics to biology in his attempt to show that science and faith are not at odds. His lecture was followed by a time dedicated to allowing the audience to ask Dr. Miller follow-up questions as they processed his presentation.

Our hope in hosting this event was to not only encourage Christians in their faith, but to also give students involved with our ministry a chance to invite not-yet-Christians to the lecture, creating space for those friends to consider Jesus and the Christian faith.

As usual, God was faithful in answering our prayers as many sceptics attended the event, providing ample opportunity for follow up conversations. Just this past Tuesday, I was able to meet with a freshman, who identifies as an atheist, for a cup of coffee. Though our conversation did not result in him coming to faith, it was a fruitful and encouraging time that, prayerfully, will lead to future meetings, in which I will be able to articulate the gospel more fully. Please pray for this student, along with the many others who attended Dr. Miller’s lecture; pray that they may come to know the love of their Creator!

In additional to this, would you also pray with us for the following:

  • Spring Break: As students enjoy a break from their studies this week, pray that they would find rest in Jesus. Pray that He would fill them up so that they might come back to campus recharged to finish their semester studies in a healthy and faithful manner.
  • Leadership Transition: As I wrote in my last prayer letter, we are once again in the midst of transitioning from one student leadership team to the next. Please pray for our new leaders as they settle into their new roles, and give direction and vision to the ministry. Pray that God would take hold of their hearts so that He would remain at the center of this ministry.

May the Lord bless you and keep you this day and all those ahead!

Grace and Peace,
