This continues to be a most unusual year! Out of an abundance of caution, Brown decided to return students to campus in waves. Just recently, a second group of students moved back, while many more have chosen to study remotely this semester. In a normal year, we’d be sharing updates about our Leaders’ Retreat on the Cape, welcoming freshmen to dinners at the Judson Center, and giving away coffee on the Main Green. Nonetheless, we are thankful for those students who were able to return this semester and grateful for the technologies that enable us to move forward with online meetings!
Please pray that:
- The Lord would strengthen and encourage our student leadership team as they work to maintain a healthy, vibrant community for the students in our ministry. Due to the restrictions enacted here on campus, many students feel isolated and their daily routines have been highly disrupted. Pray that our leaders will be blessed with an abundance of creativity as they plan activities to connect students in meaningful and life-giving ways.
- Incoming freshmen would have opportunities to connect with ministry faculty before arriving on campus in the spring. We’ve received emails from inquisitive and anxious students asking about the spiritual climate on campus. We want to assure them that God is doing big things here at Brown, and we want them to know that CU is a place in which they can grow spiritually and be encouraged by their peers.
- Ministry faculty would have days filled with personal discipleship meetings! We want to continue connecting with our students in meaningful ways despite the challenges of pandemic life. This is especially true regarding those students scattered across the nation dialing in remotely. Pray that our one-on-one meetings with these students would continue despite the scheduling challenges they face and the persistent Zoom fatigue we’re all dealing with.
- More and more students would come to know the glory and hope of our savior, Jesus Christ! This pandemic is presenting us with opportunities to share the gospel with people in new and exciting ways. People are asking questions that, perhaps, they’ve never asked before. Pray that we would be good stewards of the opportunity we’ve been given and that revival would happen here on campus - even now, especially in these circumstances.
Thank you for your prayers and financial support! Your partnership is so deeply appreciated and we are ever grateful for your help in sharing the love of Christ with the Brown University community.
