The last few weeks have been such a blessing for the team here at Brown! The weather continues to cool down, the leaves are beginning to change to familiar autumn hues, and, for the first time in two years, we’ve been able to welcome freshmen to campus. Your faithful support has made it possible for us to greet many of these students face-to-face, hosting them for meals at the Judson Center and grabbing coffee on Thayer Street. Additionally, we’ve been able to connect with a number of sophomores who weren’t in-person last fall. These students desire to be a part of Christian community; they’re eager to pray together, desperate to see the Lord move on campus, and, perhaps more than at any point in recent memory, motivated for the work of evangelism and outreach. Bible courses have officially begun, students are settling into their course schedules, and there’s a semblance of normality that has been missing for far too long! Our student leaders have decided to host a weekly prayer breakfast and are currently planning a number of evangelistic events over the semester.
Please join us in praying:
- For the freshmen that have connected with our ministry over the last month. Pray that they will see and know the Lord’s goodness, that they will stay committed to Christian community, and that they will stay strong in the face of inevitable temptations.
- For our students as they continue to invite friends to Bible courses and events at the Judson Center. They’re hosting “Family Dinners” at the Judson and these dinners are an amazing opportunity to welcome new faces. Pray that our visitors will experience a contagious warmth and generosity that is both compelling and inviting.
- For financial supporters. We can’t do this ministry without Cornerstone Partners like you. Join us in praying that the Lord would raise up friends of this ministry to help rebuild and further the work of CU Libertas at Brown.
- For the one-on-one discipleship meetings. That these would be fruitful times of healing, encouragement, and mentoring.
- For our student leaders as they provide leadership to their peers. We pray that God will bless them with an abundance of wisdom, an inspired vision for the academic year, and enthusiasm for the work to be done here at Brown.
We are so grateful for you!
Matt Woodard
