"Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle and set apart for the Gospel of God- the Gospel he promised beforehand through his prophets in the Holy Scriptures regarding his Son, who as to earthly life was a descendant of David, and who through the Spirit of holiness was appointed the Son of God in power by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord." - Romans 1:1-4
Grace and peace to you in our Lord Jesus Christ!
As the spring semester kicked off, we celebrated the baptisms of two students in our ministry! You can check out the article from our Magazine here: https://www.christianunion.org/the-magazine/7921-baptisms-at-brown. Layla and Matteo made a public declaration of their faith in Jesus’s death and resurrection, and as Heaven rejoiced, we rejoiced with our hearts filled with joy.
What I am sensing this semester from the students is a spiritual hunger, along with a fervor to see His kingdom come to Brown University. Recently, we hosted a student testimony open mic on a Thursday evening. Many students shared testimonies on the ways in which God has been working in their midst. Students shared testimonies on miraculous healings, encounters with the Lord and how even during life's inevitable trials, the ways in which Jesus continued to guide and lead them as the Good Shepherd he is. As each student came up to share, we all witnessed the incredible faithfulness of our God, as well as His undeniable presence in the room.
Our Bible courses this semester have been full and fruitful! Amaya Allen, the vice president of CU Libertas, and sophomore ladies Bible course leader, commented that she has had several new ladies come to Bible Course this semester. In addition to new Bible course attendees, our worship team has grown! We have four new freshmen who have committed this semester to be on our team! We praise the Lord that He is adding to our numbers daily, just as He did in the Book of Acts (Acts 2:47).
This spring, we have several evangelistic events planned. In mid March we will be hosting a worship service on Campus in a central location called the Underground. It is a student lounge that students frequent in the evening. In early April, we have an evangelistic training and all day event where we will be sharing the gospel on campus and inviting students to come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. In addition to these events, we have tables set up on campus each month where we give out coffee or hot chocolate and engage students in gospel conversations, as well as invite them to be part of our growing community!
Please join us in prayer for these events to yield a harvest of salvations!
Thank you for your ongoing prayers and financial support. We are praying for you as well, that the Lord would reward you richly for your kindness. Please feel free to email me directly with any specific prayer requests you may have.
I hope you have a blessed Resurrection Day with your loved ones as we celebrate our Risen King!
In Christ,
