Greetings from Ithaca! The spring semester is getting underway this week. Our students are once again enduring the realities and restrictions of life with Covid. Group gatherings are currently discouraged and while students are on campus, all classes at Cornell are being taken remotely for the first two weeks of the semester. We are, however, hopeful that things will open up soon. We have been holding weekly CU Vita student leadership meetings via Zoom for the past two weeks, and we will meet again this coming Thursday night. We have been reconnecting and praying together, and fine-tuning our plans for the semester ahead, some of which I will describe in the following prayer requests.
- Pray for our incredible student leaders and their several ministry teams: Bible course leaders, Outreach, Socials, Seeking God, Worship, Communications, and Exec. Pray that they would love Jesus and His mission above all else and experience God’s strength and joy and peace in the midst of their academics, sports, extracurriculars, ministry duties, and many relationships.
- Pray for our upcoming Bible courses—Romans, Sex and Spirituality, and Seeking God—that God would speak His truth through our teaching about Christ and the gospel, meaningful and God-honoring relationships, and what it means to grow closer to God and become mature in the faith.
- Pray for our outreach plans, that God will open the door for us to share the gospel of Christ in new and creative ways with many at Cornell this semester. Pray for our plans to share testimonies, books, and small group discussions for the sake of seeing many come to faith in Christ.
- Pray for our Seeking God and Worship leaders, thank God for them, and pray that they would continue to find great joy and purpose in sacrificing their time to lead our students into the presence of the true and living God through prayer and praise, and that our students would experience transformation into the image of Jesus.
- Pray for our staff, that we would have God’s wisdom, strength, and love as we lead our students in what it means to follow Jesus.
