Dear Prayer Partners,
It’s hard to believe we’re already in week 7 of the term, with only 3 more weeks to go. The time has flown by quickly, but much has happened to make this term a very memorable one. There have been some ups and downs within the ministry as well as at Dartmouth. Please join us in praying for these requests:
- A few weeks ago, a Dartmouth senior (’17) named Adam Wright, died tragically, which of course rocked the whole campus and many of our students who knew him personally. In response, we organized a time for students to come mourn and pray together as a community. This has been especially difficult for the students who were affiliated with the same fraternity Adam was in. Please pray that in the aftermath of this tragedy, students would turn to Christ as they face questions of mortality and the purpose of life. Pray for us as a staff as we continue to love and minister to students who are struggling to process and grieve this loss.
- In much lighter news, we would like to announce that we have found and hired a new Ministry Fellow to help with the women’s side of ministry. Dori Willeman, who has served as a volunteer with us almost since the beginning, has joined us now full-time. She and her husband, Don, planted a church here in Hanover 16 years ago, which many of our students currently attend. We are very thankful to have Dori on board, given her many years of experience in ministry and knowledge of life in Hanover as well as the unique culture of Dartmouth. Praise God for His provision at a much-needed time!
- We have also hired a student administrative assistant to help us out around the office. India Perdue is a sophomore (’19) who has demonstrated a huge heart for CU and has been a faithful servant of the ministry as an Assistant Bible Course Leader for a freshman (‘20s) group. We are grateful to have her on the team!
- Since Chase and I are expecting the birth of our son in early April, we would appreciate prayer for our staff and students as we all adjust to the changes this will bring in the spring term. Pray for Dori, that she will be able to quickly connect to new students and that they will transition well under her teaching and mentorship. Pray that our leaders would be eager and willing to step up in greater ways while we are short-staffed.
Thank you for your prayers,
Julia Carlisle
