Hello from Dartmouth,

Fall term is off and running and it’s difficult to believe we’re already three weeks into the term with seven more to go. Thank you for all your prayers for the new freshmen (‘20s) who have come in and for our upperclassmen who have labored tirelessly in welcoming them and putting on events in order to meet them and introduce them to Christian Union at Dartmouth. Please join us in prayer for the following requests:

  • Praise the Lord for two full ‘20s women’s Bible courses and two growing ‘20s men’s courses. We do ask for prayer that God would bring us more ‘20s men as we have the room and as the men’s groups seem to grow more slowly. Pray that our upperclassmen would not give up seeking them out and inviting them to participate.

  • Another praise is that many of our female ‘20s are either brand new to their faith or are checking it out for the first time. Please pray that as we teach through the Gospel of Mark in our Bible courses this term, the students would encounter Christ as their Shepherd and King and give Him the ultimate authority over their lives. Pray with us for quick connections with those in their Bible courses and for deep relationships to form from them.

  • The Lord has been faithful to provide us with a football Bible course this term with 9 sophomores (‘19s) and freshmen (‘20s) men from the team. Pray for their spiritual growth as well as their impact on the team.

  • Pray for our sophomore (‘19s) students who have decided to go through rush this term and that they would make wise, prayerful decisions going forward. Pray that their Christian community would continue to remain primary, and their faith, central.

  • Please pray for the health and unity of the various Christian ministries on campus. Ask that we might be a community that listens and seeks to understand one another. That we would be known on Dartmouth’s campus by the way we love.

We are deeply grateful to have you partner with us in prayer. We know that “unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain” (Ps 127:1) and so through prayer we are confident the Lord will build His house at Dartmouth.

Sincerely,

Julia Carlisle
