Greetings from CU Vox! As I watch the snow fall and praise God for his beautiful creation, I am reminded of Revelation 21:5, which says that “He who was seated on the throne said, ‘I am making everything new!’” In this spirit, our prayer request is simple: for divine newness and renewal as we finish the winter term, endure the finals, and look toward the spring.
And in the spirit of newness, I wanted to take a little of this space to introduce the new CU Vox team. First off, my name is Tim Pillsbury, and I’m the new Ministry Director for CU Vox. Although I’m not an alumnus myself, I grew up in the Hanover area and have siblings, parents, and a grandfather that attended Dartmouth. Most recently, I was Associate Pastor for five years at Wellspring Worship Center, a church founded by Dartmouth students which lies just ¼ mile away from downtown Hanover. I live about 25 minutes away from campus with my wife and 18-month-old daughter, and we are pregnant with our second child as well.
Erin Conner has also joined the ministry up here. Erin is the Youth Director and Campus Minister for Dartmouth at Wellspring Worship Center, where she and I worked together. Erin has been teaching young adults for the last 18 years, and holds a Master’s of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Maryland. She has worked in private and public schools, and also owned a small educational service business. She lives locally with her husband and three children.
So as we look to the coming of spring and finish with the winter, I ask that you pray into the renewal which God is birthing at Dartmouth. Pray for comfort for the hardworking students. Pray for clarity in our gospel message. And finally, pray for the effective implementation of growth strategies as we develop relationships and look to the fall.
May God bless you as you do His work,
Timothy Pillsbury
