Greetings from Cambridge,
There are few asks that better capture our challenge to become more like Jesus than the prayer that we would begin to mirror his faithfulness. The word faithful (πιστός) is rich in meaning and embodies obedience, reliability —and for our spiritual purposes— covenant relationship. Most helpfully, this exhortation reminds us that we are mere servants who possess the agency to complete assignments, but often have little control over outcomes. Yelp. "...and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation (e.g. unbelief) will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it." [1 Cor. 10:13]
Our #1 task today? Faithfully completing our assignments in a God-honoring way, trusting that answers will come in accordance with his will. This we can do!
Please join us in prayer: - ...for the Class of 2019 as they round the corner on their home stretch at Harvard. May the Lord bless them with relational and academic closure; clarity re all future plans; and the grace to resolve to faithfully and unreservedly follow Jesus all the days of their lives.
- …thanking God that HCFA is no longer on "administrative probation". The ideological collisions on campus are real (and painful), but ultimately, the student organization never violated Harvard policies. Please pray that the Lord honors our students' hearts to love God and their neighbor.
As always, we are grateful for your prayers and your partnership,
Don Weiss
