“Beloved, although I was very eager to write to you about our common salvation, I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints.” - Jude 3
Those words from Jude 3 are now a part of the commission given to the outgoing seniors in the Harvard class of 2021. Our hope and prayer for them is that they would “contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints” as they head into their various fields of work upon graduation. Please continue praying for the class of 2021 as they transition into a new season and step into what the Lord has next for them. By God’s grace, we have been able to finish Bible courses on a high note, as well as get the opportunity to celebrate the seniors as they wrap up their time at Harvard. Today we gathered on the lawn of the Cambridge Public Library to eat Chick-Fil-A, hand the students their senior gifts, as well hear them reflect on their spiritual journeys during their time at Harvard. The words shared today were an encouragement to all and a testimony to God’s grace that has been at work in their lives during the past four years.
A couple of weeks ago the exec team held a virtual Leadership Summit for all the incoming student leaders— assistant Bible course leaders as well as ministry team leaders. The training included vision casting for HCFA’s in-person regathering this fall, a short history lesson by our faithful Ministry Director, Don Weiss, as well as some short talks about culture and values by the staff. The energy and excitement around finally regathering this fall, as well as the sense of expectation for what God will do in our midst, was palpable.
With much to thank God for even in the midst of a challenging semester, a few other highlights are worth mentioning. The virtual nature of our weekly Doxa has opened up the opportunity to collaborate with other CU campuses. CU Gloria students partnered with Princeton’s Tru Thursday, bringing in many students from both schools to praise Jesus together. In addition to that, the First-Year Outreach ministry team has continued to reach pre-frosh and welcome them into the community. By God’s grace, they have been able to reach hundreds of pre-frosh through many events during virtual Visitas.
Thank you for your continued prayers and support, and may we all “contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints.”
