Dear CU Gloria Cornerstone Partners and friends of the ministry,

If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

-Romans 10:9

Many of us know this verse well and can even quote it by heart. But to hear this verse uttered to 90+ Harvard students and affiliates gave it totally new significance to me. And praise God—this is exactly what happened! On April 1st, Christian Union Gloria hosted Dr. James Tour for a talk on evidence related to the origins of life. Dr. Tour is a “world-renowned chemist, nanotechnologist, and professor at Rice University, known globally for his groundbreaking research in graphene, nanomedicine, and carbon nanomaterials. With over 700 research publications, 150 patents, and decades of pioneering contributions, he has been recognized as one of the foremost scientific minds of our time.”

Not only is he a man of scientific excellence, he is also a man of deep faith. He has dedicated his entire academic career to glorifying Jesus and is explicit about his faith with administration, faculty, students, and the rest of the academic community. It was an incredible honor and privilege to host him and to hear him present both high-caliber scientific research AND a clear presentation of the gospel.

As providence would have it, we hosted another very well-known name on Harvard’s campus later that same week! Cliffe and Stuart Knechtle, known throughout social media as “Ask Cliffe,” came to Harvard’s campus on Friday, April 4, and answered questions about faith and Christianity for five hours - with no breaks! At times, they had a crowd of three hundred or more gathered, and many came back later that evening and heard an explicit presentation of the gospel message.

Most of the month of March was spent preparing for these two special days. Many non-Christians as well as current Christians who are not connected with Christian Union showed interest as we gave away books on faith and Bibles and had many signify that they were interested in hearing more about Christianity! We at Christian Union Gloria feel immensely encouraged that people on Harvard’s campus are truly hearing the gospel and are open to hearing more! We estimate, conservatively, that well over three hundred Harvard students heard the gospel message from these events, and we praise God. Please join us in prayer for the following:

    • Pray that those who heard the gospel message and received Christ would be folded into Christian community and have “good soil” to bring them along in discipleship.
    • Pray that those who heard the gospel message but did not take steps forward would continue to be intrigued and would connect with CU Gloria students and faculty.
    • Pray that our students who did so much to coordinate the logistics and details of these events would receive blessings and rest.
    • Pray for Dr. James Tour and Cliffe and Stuart Knechtle, that they would be blessed and would continue to proclaim the gospel boldly.

We have renewed vigor in the knowledge that God is doing something at Harvard and that He is preparing many to receive the good news of the Kingdom! Thank you so much for your continued support in this effort.

May God bless you richly,
