Dear Friends and Partners of Christian Union at Penn,
Spring is dangerously close in the deep South of the Ivy League. Philadelphia enjoyed 2 days near 70 degrees this past week, and with that warmth came a reminder that the Gospel brings new life (as compared to the existentialist eternal Winter). Praise God for his gracious gift of hope!
Thank you for your continued prayers for our students at Penn. We are post-Spring Break, with 6 weeks of classes to go in the Spring semester. Our students are gearing up for the final push. CU@Penn students are rising to the challenge of encouraging each other and remaining faithful in their disciplines of grace even as the work-load increases. Would you continue to pray for:
- Our Bible Courses. The men’s Freshmen and Sophomore classes continue to grow, and, praise God, we are at maximum capacity for one of our Freshmen classes. Pray against attrition for our Women’s Bible Courses. Pray that the women would band together and finish the semester strong.
- Our new Exec and MTL’s. We have a strong group to lead CU@Penn, and we are so grateful for a smooth transition. Pray that we would coach them well as they start their new roles, and that our planning for the rest of the Spring and next Fall would be productive. Pray that Christ would be the center of all that our student leaders do, amidst all the doing. Pray that the call to leadership would be compelling as our MTL’s fill their teams.
- An outreach opportunity with Makoto Fujimura in early April as he shares in our Leadership Lecture Series (in collaboration with the Collegium Institute). Pray that our students would bring friends to hear about “Silence, Suffering, and the Way of Beauty.” Pray that Christ would be exalted in all our Philia gatherings.
- Our Seniors. Many are anticipating their new jobs, but many are still searching and wondering what the future has in store. Pray that they would have spiritual direction and that God would gently lead them to a vocation where they can glorify God with the gifts He has given them.
- Contentment! Amongst both our students and staff, pray that we would rejoice in this wonderful privilege of proclaiming Christ at Penn. Pray for a bountiful harvest as we joyfully share the Gospel.
Thank you for your continued partnership. May God bless you richly in His grace.
In Christ our King,
