Dear Friends and Partners of Christian Union at Penn,
Thank you for your continued prayers for our ministry, staff, and students. It was a restful, hopeful, prayerful summer for us here in Philadelphia. As a staff we are excited to begin our Freshmen Campaign, and our returning students share that excitement.
We are currently at our Pre-Retreat, where we (1) Connect with God, (2) Re-connect with each other, and (3) Prepare to connect with first-year students. At Pre-Retreat, we are equipping each other to reach out with the Gospel to ears who will hear, by God’s grace, and who will be enveloped into the CU community at Penn. Please pray for:
- Penn’s New Student Orientation (NSO): that students would be overwhelmed so much so that they would long for a community of hope and friendship.
- Student connections: that our students would make themselves uncomfortable in reaching out to new students so that the new students would be comforted.
- Our witness to Christ: that when we meet students who are in need of friendship and hope, we would be bold in our proclamation of the Gospel.
- Bible Courses: that they would be full to over-flowing, as Peter’s nets were. Lord make us fishers of men!
- Our ABCL’s: as they gather 1st year students, and that life-changing relationships would be established on the sure foundation of Christ’s love and grace.
- Jesus’ fame and exaltation: that the name of Christ would be on students’ lips…from those coming from Christian homes who look to Him for solace and peace, and from those who have never heard of the name, but who are captivated by the story of His passion.
- Strength and perseverance: that our staff would remain steadfast in the midst of weariness (and many late, late nights). Pray that the joy of the Lord would be our strength.
