Greetings from Penn!
I’m thankful to say that I just returned from vacation where I was able to spend 10 days hiking 100 miles on the Appalachian Trail while seeking the Lord through the Psalms of Ascents. I found this time particularly refreshing, inspiring, and faith-building. The Lord graciously strengthened my “inner man” (Eph 3:16), and I am spurred on by what God has in store for the upcoming academic year as we diligently seek His face.
As we proceed through the summer months students are still engaged with their summer activities, while here at Penn we are preparing for a robust pre-retreat. Our aim at pre-retreat is to seek God intently for the arriving freshmen, rekindle relationships, strengthen our student leaders in the Lord, and train them for success for our Freshmen Welcoming Campaign. I am praying and believing that God will: 1) bring student leaders who fervently love God and want to see his purposes advanced at Penn, and 2) that we will be able to add ~40 freshmen to our community. This will require student leaders who fervently love God and effective leadership on my part.
I am also currently engaged with contacting our Cornerstone Partners for one-on-one connections, seeking to add more Cornerstone Partners, and also recruiting folks into our CU Fire Retreats. I hope to be able to connect with each of our Cornerstone Partners for CU Martus to give updates on what God has done this past year, and also let you know what is ahead for us!
As we continue through the summer and look ahead toward the future, I ask that you join us in prayer for:
- Our students remain steadfast and strong in the Lord (Eph 3:16-19).
- Our student leaders would be fervent in their pursuit of God to pray for incoming freshmen.
- Continue to pray that the Lord would provide a female ministry fellow, as we are seeking and hoping to fill that position sometime this summer.
- God to add more Cornerstone Partners so we can continue to transform students' lives at Penn so that they may become leaders who also transform the world around them.
Grace and Peace,
