A student who’s been an engaged member of our freshman guys Bible course, and whom I’ve been privileged to meet and pray with regularly, recently said to me, “God is powerfully at work in my life, and I couldn’t be more excited about it.” This is from a student who experienced real challenges, both academic and personal, the second half of the fall quarter, but who by God’s grace has come back to Stanford this winter quarter with a renewed zeal for God’s word, prayer, and meaningful community with other Christians. Praise God for his work! Also, praise God for all He is doing in the lives of each student we have the opportunity to serve.
We are weak, constantly in need of God’s gracious provision, strengthening and guidance, and grateful that God is eager to give us good gifts when we ask him. To that end, please join us in praying that God would be glorified and people blessed in the following ways:
We are grateful to God, and praise Him for the following:
- Our current Bible course, as we work through “A Seeking-God Lifestyle”: that the young men in this course would truly seek the Lord with all their hearts, and that He would be found by them. (Deuteronomy 4:29)
- Garrett’s and my one-on-one meetings with students: that we would deepen friendships with these students and help them see the glory of God. “One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts”! (Psalms 145:4)
- Our team of four student leaders: as they lead the charge in growing our group in depth and breadth and in seeking official recognition from Stanford University, that God would equip and unite them and give them joy in these endeavors.
- Our efforts to begin ministering to freshman women at Stanford: that God would bring a few pioneering young women into our group to be the catalyst for the female side of our ministry at Stanford.
- Ministry Director Garrett Brown, that God would give him humility and wisdom in guiding his family through this significant change in their ministry context.
- My wife, young daughters and me: that God would grant us much grace as I work to finish my ThM thesis between now and May.
Warmly, in Christ,
