We have arrived at the middle of the fall quarter for Stanford, and it has been an incredible first several weeks! Our Freshman Welcome fall kickoff resulted in connecting with a great group of freshman men and women who are exploring God and growing in their faith through the ministries of Christian Union Caritas -- Christian Union's ministry to students at Stanford.
These early weeks are crucial, not only in getting them plugged into our Bible courses and other opportunities, but in how and where they find community as new students in a new environment. It is often the case that if freshman don’t proactively seek out Christian fellowship at this stage, they likely won’t at all the remainder of their college years.
Please pray with us for the following:
- Pray for our new (and continuing) Bible Courses. We have added a new freshman women’s course, a new freshman men’s course, and a new course of junior men has emerged as well!
- Pray for the Freshman class. Our staff and students have been praying through each new student by name, and we continue to seek God’s blessing on behalf of these young adults.
- Pray particularly for a handful of students who are exploring Christianity for the first time through our Bible Courses. Pray that God reveals himself to each of them, and they respond in life-changing faith.
- Pray for our student leadership as they continue to seek recognition from the University’s administration. Pray that we can demonstrate our desire to seek a healthy contribution to the Stanford community.
- Pray for Jim Black in his emerging work with student athletes. As he connects to individual students, pray for a resulting hunger for the knowledge of Christ and his Word.
As always, we are grateful for your partnership in the gospel!
