—C. S. Lewis, Till We Have Faces
This short, but loaded statement from Lewis’ reimagining of the Cupid and Psyche myth contains a good measure of hope, but also a fair amount of challenge. We are creatures in process, striving toward Christlikeness, often stumbling along the way. As our students endure the midpoint of the winter quarter (and the school year!), they have a keen sense that their lives are yet not in a true and final form. God has begun a good work in many lives on this campus, and He will carry it to completion through His Son. Please join us in praying for Christian Union Caritas -- Christian Union's ministry to students at Stanford:
- Pray for the spiritual vitality of the campus as followers of Jesus share truth and grace with boldness, conviction, and great love.
- Pray for our students in Bible Courses this winter quarter. As the freshmen groups study Seeking God, and the upperclassmen study Paul’s letter to the Romans, may it be a time of great growth and further hunger for God’s Word.
- Pray for clarity and perseverance in the students’ studies. This is the heavy time of year as many students load up on units, but there is also much anxiety in making plans for summer jobs and internships. Pray for peace and Christ’s strength as they pursue their goals.
- Pray for our student leadership team as they continue to dialogue with the school administration regarding their recognition as a student organization. Thank God for our leader’s respectful and reasoned posture with the school as they represent dozens of interested students.
We would also appreciate prayers for the team of Stanford students joining hundreds of other CU students and staff at Nexus this month. May it be a time of rich community-building and growth!
As always, we are humbled and grateful for your ongoing partnership in this ministry!
Grace and peace in Jesus,
