Grace and peace from Palo Alto!

Usually, during the summer weeks, we pivot a bit from our regular Bible courses to do something different. This summer several CU students—including some incoming freshmen—are meeting on Tuesday nights via Zoom to read through and discuss the book of Genesis. Recently while covering chapter 18, we read about Abraham’s persistent intercession on behalf of Sodom before God:

Then he said, “Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak again but this once. Suppose ten are found     there.” He answered, “For the sake of ten I will not destroy it.”
(Gen.18:32)

Ministry fellow Justin Woyak discussed the implications of this passage for anticipating the ministry of Jesus: He is the One who intercedes on our behalf, and he is the Righteous One who bears our judgment so that we are spared from God’s wrath. What great riches there are to mine from this foundational book of the Old Testament! It has been encouraging to spend our summer in the word with our students.

Please join with the Stanford team as we pray:

  • Pray for the quickly approaching fall quarter and the challenges this unique season poses for ministry.
  • Pray for the incoming freshman class and the new students with whom we have begun to connect.
  • Pray for our new financial partners who have recently begun supporting the Caritas ministry.
  • Pray for the CU Caritas ministry team and their families.
  • And we commit to praying for you, our partners in ministry, and in the gospel!

We remain grateful for our new and continuing partners in this mission!

In Christ,

Garrett Brown
