Hello CU Caritas Cornerstone Partners and friends of the ministry,
There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit (Romans 8:1-4). As we work our way through Romans in our Bible courses, last week we feasted on these incredible verses. Praise God that not only has Christ set us free from sin and death—he has also empowered us to fulfill the true purpose of God’s law! We really can love God and our neighbor, because God has transformed us through the work of Christ and the power of the Spirit. This is the heritage of those for whom there is now no condemnation because they are in Christ Jesus!
One of the ways we can now walk according to the Spirit is in communion with God through prayer. And we are so grateful that many of you include us in your prayers to our Father. In answer to the prayers of many of you, in the last few weeks about a dozen new students have shown up for the first time at Venture (our weekly meeting for worship and teaching) and Bible courses! Please pray that God would draw near to these students and help us to form and deepen friendships with them. We want to welcome them as Christ has welcomed us.
Please also pray for the new members of the Class of 2026, all of whom had to accept their offers of admission by Monday. May God raise up laborers for the harvest from this class! And may he help the Christian community at Stanford to connect with many of these students at the beginning of their time at Stanford. Please pray that God would bless our efforts to impact these students with the gospel.
Please also pray for the outgoing seniors and co-term students who are nearing the endpoint of their Stanford careers. May they finish strong, make the best of their remaining time with friends and mentors and other opportunities, and launch into their next endeavors built up and full of faith!
Grateful to God for your partnership in Christ,
