Greetings!
Summer has finally arrived in all its verdant glory here in New Haven, and with it has come the time for us to say goodbye to our seniors and 'see you soon' to our underclassmen as they head off for the summer.
We began the month with our senior banquet to celebrate what a great blessing our graduating class has been to our community the last four years and send them off with our blessing. Many laughs and tears were shared that night as we toasted the seniors individually. It was a testament to God's work in their lives to see how close this group has grown together and how deeply the underclassmen appreciated the impact this class had on them. This weekend they received their degrees and graduated from Yale. Please join us in thanking God for the faithfulness of our senior class and in praying for their continued commitment to Christ's reign in their lives as they enter their next stage of life. The transition from college to the professional world is a crucial one for many young Christians today, and we pray especially that they might find new church communities to call home wherever they go.
We also thank God for the increased evangelistic zeal we've seen among our younger students. A rising sophomore, who has little to no background with Christianity, recently expressed interest in joining a Bible course after one of our students invited her to church earlier this month. Please join us in asking for this zeal to only grow in the coming months among our students, that they would be hungry to share the good news of Christ with their friends. We especially long to see more young men walking with Christ on this campus, so we ask that you pray for the Lord to create more connections there.
Finally, please pray for our students as they scatter across the globe this summer. Pray that the summer would be a time of concentrated growth in the Lord even as they are away from their usual rhythms and community. Here in New Haven we'll be offering a summer study in the Psalms. Our hope is that this study will greatly enrich our students' prayer lives as well as offer an avenue for new students to come into our ministry this summer when schedules are much more relaxed.
Thanks for praying! It's been a wonderful year, and we have much to be thankful for.
