“Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice”, Philippians 4:4.

Paul’s letter to the Philippians is full of joy and thanksgiving – he used his own thankful heart to teach and encourage the church to live joyfully in light of the gospel.  Even, and perhaps especially, in challenging times.  This season of Lent is a time of reflection and repentance that leads directly and unequivocally to an unencumbered joy in the resurrection of Jesus Christ.  We have an abundant new life in Christ, and the hope of all things being made new.

2018 is shaping up to be an extraordinary year for CU New York.  Even with typical New York hyperbole we are excited about the events, the developing networks, the growing body of believers engaging the city, and the obvious work of the Spirit taking place.

January and February have been full of events and conversations on the faith implications for space (real estate), economics, the supernatural, and ways in which the Reformations shaped the American political framework.  This latter subject was the focus of Os Guinness’ insightful talk on February 5 to the CU New York community (video of this talk available here).  These kinds of conversations serve to enhance and clarify the choices we make in the pursuit of our callings and as we engage our world in the transformational work of Christ.

Coming in the next six months will be other events in the spheres philanthropy, finance, media, and the arts.  Please join us for these conversations – because in the context of community these events move us toward action and involvement as Christians.  You can find more information on these upcoming events on our events page .

Finally, our annual Christian Union Cities Conference (formerly “Nexus: Professionals”) is just a few months away on June 22-23, 2018 here in New York.  It will be an amazing time of worship, speakers, breakouts, and much more.  The theme “They Turned the World Upside Down” reflects our commitment to consequential action in New York and the plenary sessions and breakouts will challenge us in that light.  Please note the date on your calendar and you will hear more on that soon.

Blessings to you in this season of joy,
