As I write to you a few days pre-election, I realize this email will hit your inbox shortly after the election. Have we slept? Are we breaking a fast? Do we yet have a decisive answer? Are we devastated, elated, indifferent? One thing we know for sure is that our God sits enthroned above the earth and He is the one who “changes times and seasons; He removes kings and establishes them. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning” (Daniel 2:21). May we as the people of God, the Bride of Christ in this city, strive to be peacemakers, to pray for all of our leaders as is commanded in the scriptures, humble ourselves under the will of the Father, and be eager to share the hope that we have in Jesus. No matter who sits in our White House, we know that Jesus sits at the right hand of the Father and what a privilege that our salvation and hope are in Him!
On other news, we have an exciting forum to announce to you! On November 30, Christian Union’s New York ministry is teaming up with our Alumni Relations team and is hosting a virtual forum with esteemed guest, Dr. Vince Vitale. His topic is “Working Relationships and Relationships that Work: Fostering A Redemptive Corporate Culture.” Dr. Vitale is a speaker and author who serves as RZIM’s Regional Director for the Americas and Director of the Zacharias Institute. He was educated at Princeton University and the University of Oxford, and he taught philosophy of religion and served as a faculty member at both universities. He has since authored many books and publications, hosts a podcast, and is familiar to many of you as he has dazzled the CU audience with his brilliance in the past. After Vince’s prepared remarks, you will have an opportunity for Q&A. We all understand that this faith/work relationship is at times a challenge in NYC and is at the heart of our mission at CU NY. You can register for the forum here. If you are a Cornerstone Partner, you will also receive an invitation to a more intimate pre-event where you can interact with Dr. Vitale face-to-face via zoom and glean much from him with your questions. You can learn more about becoming a Cornerstone Partner here.
At Christian Union, our vision is to see a spiritually vibrant nation marked by Christian values permeating every corner of society. In NY in particular, as we develop and connect transformative Christian leaders to maximize your impact on culture, your integration of faith and work is critical to achieving this vision together!
- Please pray that God will cover His flock in the NY area and that we will remain strong, encouraged, and full of faith as witnesses of Jesus in potentially tumultuous times.
- Pray that the One who owns the “cattle on a thousand hills” will continue to provide for this ministry endeavor into the highly influential city of NY, that we may be healed and be used of the Lord to heal the nation!
- We are beginning to set up our first in-person prayer and fasting CU Fire retreats and smaller events. Pray that we can finally get up and running safely and responsibly in person very soon.
Thank you for your partnership with us in ministry. God is always on the move and is doing a new thing! I love each one of you with all of my heart as we are bound together by the Spirit and on a mission for the King of Kings together.
