Christian Union NY praises God for those who heeded the call to pray each day of the month of September specifically for Christian and secular leaders in New York!
Here is a testimony from a friend of the ministry, Candy Rice, describing some specific ways the Holy Spirit was leading her to pray! Hallelujah to the Great Shepherd who still speaks through His Spirit to those whom He knows, and whose sheep hear His voice and follow Him (John 10:27).
“Twice this week I have been led to pray for the Holy Spirit to set spiritual bonfires in the neighborhoods, boroughs, and city of NY. I've prayed that these bonfires will spread from church to church, from neighborhood to neighborhood, from borough to borough, etc. Tonight the Spirit spoke through me to create a bastion in NY. I didn't even know what this word meant, so I looked up the definition.
Bastion:
- A projecting part of a fortification built at an angle to the line of a wall, so as to allow defensive fire in several directions
- An institution, place or a person strongly defending or upholding particular principles, attitudes, or activities
I receive this as Him recognizing CU as a bastion for Him and His Kingdom work in NYC. I know there are many others there too. We can pray for more to be established and for all of you to be strengthened to defend your God-ordained positions in preparation for the enemy's backlash from the bonfires.”
Notice that the bastion is created by others standing in defense—those standing in the gap through intercession!!! Hallelujah to our God who hears the cries of His people and reveals Himself throughout the Scriptures as a fire! May His very fiery presence catch from church to church, neighborhood to neighborhood, and borough to borough.
Please join us this month in praying specifically on these matters:
- Pray that the October 8th-9th CU Fire prayer and fasting retreats in two NYC locations and seven other locations across the US will catch the fire of the presence and power of the Living God. This is our first multi-site CU Fire retreat. Pray for fire! (Look what these retreats are already named!)
- Pray for increased anointing and protection for all hosts and leaders, and protection in advance from any backlash of the enemy as he receives blows next weekend.
- Pray that lives will be radically transformed in rooting and grounding ways that branch out to other lives and institutions across the city.
- Pray that God will fortify the bastion of Christian Union New York with all the partners and friends of the ministry, that we would all be strategically connected with other bastions across the city, and that we receive the God-ordained blueprint for battle as we develop and connect Christian leaders to transform culture.
