Your prayers for Christian Union New York are bearing so much fruit! Christian Union New York is thrilled to announce to you that after many months in the making, CU New York has established its own Advisory Board! Christian Union as a whole has been operating under the guidance and wisdom of a board for many years. But now, as CU New York continues to expand and solidify the means of accomplishing its mission (including one day expanding into other major cities), Christian Union leadership has determined that it was time to establish this localized board. This board will help advise, multiply the hands and feet, talents, areas of expertise, experience, and networking connections of CU New York.
After prayer and seeking the Spirit’s guidance and choice of board members, God has pulled together an amazing team. This board contains some of the city’s top leaders in various fields who are all seriously dedicated to advancing God’s work here in the city. And what a testimony of God’s hand on this work that every single person invited to serve eagerly accepted. God is moving and appointing His leaders for such a time as this.
CU New York kicked off the new year with its first board meeting this past week. One of the foundations of the board was to be a praying board, seeking Him first, seeking His wisdom and strategy, and ultimately His power to accomplish kingdom work beyond what one can humanly think, imagine, or do. We established, along with our inspiration from Moses, that if God does not go up with us, we will not go!
- Pray for consistency in humility and surrender before God for every board member.
- Pray that the Spirit will speak loudly and clearly as the board collectively seeks Him for His leadership.
- Ask God to protect them, their families, their churches, and keep them close to Him.
- Pray for increased favor and blessing on their lives and impact.
- Pray that vital connections are made to CU New York amongst all the board member’s connections, and that significant ministry continues and spreads.
- Pray for blessed and beautiful unity that is pleasing to the Lord. For, brothers and sisters dwelling together in unity commands a blessing, according to God’s Word.
- Pray for God to come and do more than can be thought or imagined, that the glory of Jesus will flood this broken and increasingly godless and secular city of great destiny.
- Pray for our God to do a new thing.
Let’s press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus (Phil. 3:14).
For His glory,
Karen Hetzler
