About forty New York Christians just gathered in host homes across the city (125 participants across the country) to simultaneously participate in the April 1-2 CU Fire retreat. In these retreats, Christians dig deep, fast and pray together, seek the Lord and His voice, read a book of the Bible for two hours straight, worship, hear challenging messages, pray for one another for long periods of time, fellowship deeply, and so much more. Christian Union New York asks you to pray that God will continue to complete the good work that He has begun!
- Pray that the Spirit continues to pursue each attendee and that each attendee continues to pursue Him, that He may draw near. “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” James 4:8
- Pray that every intention of the Father to work in the lives of each participant be realized and brought to fruition and completion. “And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” Philippians 1:6
- Pray that the enemy will be shut out and have no ground for backlash, to harass, lie, steal, attack, divide, distract, discourage, etc. “Truly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” Matthew 18:18
- Pray for God to give every good gift He desires to give in follow up, especially the Holy Spirit. “If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!” Matthew 7:11
- Pray that those God has marked out to turn around and host a CU Fire site themselves (October 14-15), gathering their own friends for a blessing, will hear the voice of the Lord and eagerly obey. Ask the Lord for the multiplication of His work and fruit! “Thus says the LORD of hosts: Peoples shall yet come, even the inhabitants of many cities. The inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying, ‘Let us go at once to entreat the favor of the LORD and to seek the LORD of hosts; I myself am going.’ Many peoples and strong nations shall come to seek the LORD of hosts in Jerusalem and to entreat the favor of the LORD. Thus says the LORD of hosts: In those days ten men from the nations of every tongue shall take hold of the robe of a Jew, saying, ‘Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.” Zechariah 8:20-23
