Greetings from Christian Union Lumine at Columbia! We praise God for partners like you in supporting the work He is doing through this ministry. As I am writing this, the seasons have changed here in the Big Apple: it is 60 degrees and winter is officially behind us. The students are out connecting with their peers in person, hanging out on the steps of Low, and finding themselves exploring the city again!
The spring semester classes will be coming to an end around April 15th and finals will begin shortly after. Pray for the students as they come to the end of their semester and start mapping out their internships and summer plans.
This past month has been refreshing. With the relaxing of some restrictions, we’ve been able to meet and hold student events and Bible courses in the Ministry Center. Student prayer gatherings, Bible courses, LLS (Illumina), and one-on-ones have yielded wonderful times with God and with each other.
Our student exec team has officially transitioned and the new team is praying and mapping out fall 2021. President Bolligner sent out a letter with information about reopening in the fall. As of now, the college will be back in full swing in September 2021.
The students are gearing up for a one-week fasting and prayer event for Holy Week. CU Lumine has partnered with multiple campus ministries at Columbia for this initiative. There is a deep hunger for God and a desire for Him to move in a mighty way on this campus. As we come to the end of the spring semester, please join us in praying for:As we come to the end of the spring semester, please join us in praying for:
- Holy Week Fast: Pray that God would truly meet the students in a special way. Pray for spiritual awakening, boldness to witness, and increased love for Jesus!
- Columbia football team: As they mourn the loss of their teammate, first-year student Jackson Coker, pray God’s peace would be with Jackson’s family and all those who are mourning.
- New student executive team: Pray for the new student leadership team: Priscilla, Feven, Jonathan, Chase & Grace-Elleda. Pray that God would give them wisdom & favor to lead this ministry.
- One-on-one discipleship: Pray for deep, meaningful conversations with students. Pray for those that are struggling in their faith and for those that seek to grow in their walk with God. Pray that God would use these one-on-one times to strengthen and grow individuals.
- Raising up new financial partners: we know that we can’t do this ministry without supporters like you. Join us in praying that God would bring new Christ-minded friends of this ministry to help rebuild CU Lumine at Columbia through their financial support.
Thank you for your love and partnership at CU Lumine. We could not do this without your prayers.
Grace and Peace,
Stan Thomas
