Greetings from Christian Union Lumine at Columbia! We praise God for partners like you in supporting the work He is doing through this ministry.
We have about four weeks of the spring semester remaining before we enter finals time. Pray for the students as they come to the end of their semester and start mapping out their internships and summer plans.
This past month has been refreshing. We’ve designated space and time at the Christian Union Ministry Center for prayer gatherings on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Along with prayer, Bible courses, LLS (Illumina), and one-on-ones have yielded wonderful times with God and with each other. We also had Dr. Jack Deere join us for a two-day workshop speaking on “Hearing God’s Voice” and “Being God’s Friend.”
Our student Executive team has officially transitioned and the new team is praying and planning for Fall 2022.
The students are gearing up for one week of fasting and prayer during Holy Week followed by an all-night prayer gathering on Good Friday. CU Lumine has also partnered with multiple campus ministries for an Interfellowship Night. There is a deep hunger for God and a desire for Him to move in a mighty way on this campus.
As we come to the end of the spring semester, please join us in praying for:
- Holy Week Fast: Pray that God would truly meet the students in a special way. Pray for spiritual awakening, boldness for witness, and increased love for Jesus!
- One-on-one Discipleship: Pray for deep, meaningful conversations with students. Pray for those that are struggling in their faith and for those that seek to grow in their walk with God. Pray that God would use these times to strengthen and grow individuals.
- New Student Executive Team: Pray for the new student leadership team: Bethel Adiele, Grace-Elleda Gonzalez, Timothy Kinnamon, and Ayomide Tikare. Pray that God would give them wisdom and favor to lead this ministry.
- Staff: Please pray for myself and Jade Thompson. Pray God would continue to give us His strength as we minister to the student body at Columbia.
- Spiritual hunger and thirst: Pray that the students would have a deep hunger for the things of God: prayer, worship, Christian community, and reading Scripture.
- Raising up new financial partners: We know that we can’t do this ministry without supporters like you. Join us in praying that God would bring new Christ-minded friends of this ministry to help rebuild CU Lumine at Columbia through their financial support.
Thank you for your love and partnership at CU Lumine. We could not do this without your prayers.
Grace and Peace,
Stan Thomas
