Greetings from Christian Union Lumine at Columbia!
This is a bittersweet time of year. I had the privilege of attending commencement and saying goodbye to many seniors and meeting family members for the first time because of the limits created by Covid-19 these past two years. There was a moment when my heart was filled with intense joy and gratefulness for all the Lord has done in the lives of these students. Many came to this campus with so many questions about faith and future. And Jesus lovingly met each of them in a personal way. Your support and prayers have made those moments possible.
As we officially start the summer semester, we are in the planning phase of welcoming new freshmen that will join this fall. Our student executive team is hard at work planning events in the summer along with preparing for the pre-retreat in August. We will also be restarting Bible courses this summer for students on campus and for those that can join via online.
Would you please join us in praying for:
- Graduating seniors: pray that many will settle into wherever the Lord leads them. Pray that they will experience the peace of God with whatever opportunities lay ahead of them. Pray that they will find a church community to continue to grow in their walk with God.
- Summer Bible courses: pray for the students as we study God’s word. Pray that God would open their spiritual eyes to encounter Him in the text.
- Student ministry leaders and executive team: pray for the student leaders as they plan for the upcoming semester. Pray that God would give them wisdom and the strength they need to accomplish all their tasks. Pray that the summer would be refreshing times for their hearts.
- Incoming freshmen: pray for the new students joining Columbia this fall. Pray that they would be able to connect with Christian Union Lumine students and experience the hope of the gospel through deep, meaningful relationships.
