Greetings from Christian Union Lumine!
Students are presently back home, in summer internships, or taking classes, but I have the privilege of connecting with a few students who are still in the NYC area or on campus.
As a ministry, we will be spending the bulk of time this summer planning for our Pre-Retreat. Pre-Retreat is a time for our Freshman Welcomers and Ministry Leaders to get away, reconnect with God, rekindle friendships, and plan our freshmen welcoming events for incoming freshmen.
Along with planning for Pre-Retreat, we will be holding a book study over the summer for incoming freshmen and current students. We will be reading “Echoes of Exodus: Tracing Themes of Redemption through Scripture.”
We are able to do the wonderful ministry of serving students at Columbia University because of faithful Cornerstone Partners like you. I will be personally reaching out to all our partners this summer to offer my heartfelt gratitude for their love and support, while also meeting with potential new partners.
As we get ready for the Fall 2022 and students returning to campus, would you please join us in praying for:
- Student Ministry Leaders and Executive Team: pray for the student leaders as they plan for the upcoming semester. Pray that God would give them wisdom and the strength they need to accomplish all their tasks. Pray that the summer would be a refreshing time for their hearts.
- Pre-Retreat: pray for all those planning the retreat and for the different activities that are involved in making pre-retreat a success.
- Incoming Freshmen: pray for the new students joining Columbia this fall. Pray that they would be able to connect with Christian Union Lumine students and experience the hope of the gospel through deep, meaningful relationships.
- One-on-one discipleship: pray for deep, meaningful conversations with students. Pray for those that are struggling in their faith and for those that seek to grow in their walk with God. Pray that God would use these one-on-one times to strengthen and grow individuals.
- Cornerstone Partners: please pray the Lord will raise up new financial partners that will join us in serving the students of Columbia University.
