I'm Craig Holliday, the new Ministry Director at CU Lumine. It's a pleasure to introduce myself and provide you with our prayer requests for the current semester.
By God's grace, we have gotten off to a great start for the spring 2023 semester during this season of transition. The students have returned with a deeper desire to seek God for a revival on the campus and a harvest of new converts at Columbia University. In the past semester, we saw 85 students join for Bible Course, averaged over 40 students at our weekly Leadership Lecture Series (Illumina), heard from great speakers like Dr. Lydia Dugdale (Author & Physician), Tim Goeglein (Former White House Advisor) and so many others. We currently have 89 students participating in the Bible courses and currently averaging 53 students at the weekly Illumina.
The students are gathering every morning (seven days a week) at 9 am for corporate prayer, they have launched a "Prayer Warrior Challenge" initiative for the months of February and March, which includes prayer partners. They launched their Sunday night dinner and prayer fellowships from 7-9 pm. They executed a Valentine's Day outreach with greeting cards saying, "God has poured out His love to fill our hearts", cupcakes, and $10 Starbucks gift cards to invite a non-believing friend for coffee to share the gospel.
As we continue to plan various outreach events in the coming months we would appreciate your continued prayers for:
- Student Body: please pray for the students to manage their workloads and not neglect the importance of cultivating a consistent prayer life in seeking God's face and the importance of studying His word. They continue to grow in Christian community and participate in ongoing events. Please pray for the seniors as they begin to transition out of Columbia University and seek career opportunities.
- Student Leadership: Please continue to pray for the current student leaders as they transition out and a new leadership team is formed. Please pray God would raise up the right leaders for this season of the ministry.
- Spiritual Hunger and Thirst: Please pray that the students will continue in their desire to seek the Lord in prayer, fasting, studying the scriptures, worship, and growing in the Christian community here at CU Lumine.
- New Financial Partners: The ministry continues to flourish because of the financial support of Cornerstone Partners who believe in the work we are doing on the campus. Please join us in prayer for new partners to join the team of CU Lumine at Columbia University.
- Revival on Campus: We believe that God is raising up young people who will impact the culture for the Kingdom. Please pray that God will open the ears to hear and soften the hearts of students to receive the love of Christ on the Columbia University campus.
Thank you in advance for your continued prayers and support.
Run To Win,
Craig Holliday
