"…this is what was uttered through the prophet Joel: “‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams; even on my male servants and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy. And I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke; the sun shall be turned to darkness and the moon to blood, before the day of the Lord comes, the great and magnificent day. And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.’ - Acts 2:16-21
Peter began the very first of a billion sermons in the Church age with a reference to the fulfillment of this prophecy—a game changer—and the world has never been the same. Sophomores and juniors are immersing themselves in the descriptive and prescriptive stories of the early church this semester in our Bible Courses, while freshmen consider matters of the heart (seeking God) and seniors contemplate life beyond the Yard. Please pray that our collective studies, infused and informed by the very presence of God, would chase the cynicism and discouragement that all too often prevail.
Please join us in prayer:
- Several students have recently made professions of faith with others drawing near to community and we trust, the Lord. Please pray that they wholeheartedly follow Jesus and be firmly established in the faith and in community.
- CU’s leadership transition is underway, culminating in a baton transfer at spring break. Please pray for returning and new leaders as we eagerly embark on a new chapter in HCFA’s history. More details to follow.
As always, we deeply value your prayers and your partnership.
