Grace and Peace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ. I’m happy to be writing to you again, and am grateful for your prayers! The Lord has been working in our midst.
Since I last wrote, we have taken 37 students on our winter retreat where we went through the book of Esther. The retreat was titled “Conspiracy & Sovereignty” and we looked at how God orchestrated His will and how Esther, as a leader, sought God and led others to do the same in response to God’s sovereignty that He would move on their behalf. Here is what some students said of the retreat:
“This was my 7th retreat and it has been the best one I’ve been to so far.”
“Thank you so much for planning this retreat! It was so restorative.”
“It was a great time! I appreciated the fellowship, but above all the leadership that came spiritually.”
Using Esther as inspiration for seeking the Lord, especially in times of great difficulty and consequence, and her model of Christian leadership, we called the students at retreat to seek the Lord in greater ways by: four morning and evening devotionals of 30 minutes each and fasting once a week. We had, by God’s grace, 14 students who wanted to seek the Lord with us. Since retreat, we have continually encouraged these students to seek the Lord. Here is what a few of them have to say so far:
“I’ve started to feel more fellowship with God, and I’ve noticed it in my relationship with others. I was fasting, and I was stopped by one of the guards who I’m friends with. She gave me her testimony, and I prayed over her. Right there, in the upper quad gate, I stopped what I was doing and prayed for her. It felt like a divine appointment.”
“When I pause from the busyness of the day, whether it’s devotionals, prayer, or fasting, it makes my day more centered on Christ, the bigger picture, which really gives me a lot of peace and purpose”
Please join us in praying:
- That God would continue to fan the flame in students' hearts to seek Him wholeheartedly.
- That students would be bold witnesses for Christ (2 Thes 3:1).
- That the Lord would continue to draw students to follow Him, becoming the leaders who He has created them to be.
God is greatly using your prayers to grow the ministry impact at CU Martus. Would you pray that these students and student leaders continue to deepen their faith? It would be a blessing to the ministry if you would consider a gift to support what God is doing at CU Martus. Thank you for developing and connecting Christian leaders--CU Martus would be grateful if you are led to give a donation at this secure link below!
