Q and A with George Otis
The Christian Union Cities Conference in New York this summer, George Otis, Jr. spoke about the great awakenings in the United States and the ensuing socio-economical impact that followed in various cities and communities that were “overwhelmed by the grace and presence of God.” Christian Union: The Magazine recently interviewed him regarding the role of individual and corporate prayer in these outpourings.Otis is the founder and president of the Sentinel Group, a U.S.-based Christian research, media, and training agency “dedicated to helping revival-hungry communities discover the pathway to societal transformation.”
Best known as the producer of the award-winning Transformations documentaries − a series that has been viewed by an estimated 250 million people in 175 nations − Otis has also authored six books and is a frequent speaker at international conferences and symposia.

Christ, Culture and Clapham: A Discussion of Cobelligerency and Creativity to Seek the Common Good
On September 25, 2018, Christian Union hosted its first DC salon, an evening with Mark Rodgers on the theory of social change pursued by William Wilberforce and Hannah More in their efforts to "reform the manners" of late eighteenth-century England.Rodgers is Principal of a company known as the The Clapham Group, which is inspired by the original Clapham Sect, a group made up of Wilberforce, More and like-minded friends. Rodgers discussed how the approach of the original Clapham Sect impacts his work today, and how we ought to engage society should we wish to achieve similar results.

Christian Union New York hosted salon tours of the Met on May 25 and June 1, 2018 titled, "The Cradle of Early Christianity: Ancient Mediterranean Culture and Religious Art at the Met."Dr. Stamenka Antonova shared rich insight into the museum's ancient exhibits. Professionals and graduate students in New York connected with fellow Christians during an evening of lively conversation and learning.

Christian Union New York was delighted to welcome Paul Horrocks for a salon on March 6, 2018 titled, "Excellence in Technology: Leveraging Prayer and Biblical Examples to Build Great Products.Topic
This salon explored how Christians working in technology can use the power of the Holy Spirit to help them excel in building great products. Paul discussed how his faith has impacted his ability to build software for a heavily regulated industry and highlight how Joseph and Nehemiah leveraged their faith to excel in difficult circumstances.

New York's Fall Young Professional Event
Christian Union New York hosted an evening of fellowship and fun for young professionals on Saturday, September 30, 2017.
Christian Union's campus ministries, as well as other young professionals and recent graduates (classes of 2011-2017) to sailed down the Hudson and into New York Harbor on the yacht Manhattan II.
Guests enjoyed snacks, beer, wine, and soft drinks as they got to know other Christians in the city and hear more about what Christian Union has to offer professionals to thrive in the city and engage redemptively in work and culture. This was an opportunity for professionals in New York City to build connections with other Christians while enjoying an evening together on the Hudson River.
