Event Engages, Challenges Princeton Students

By Leah Smith, Princeton ’20

In the spring semester, Christian Union NOVA at Princeton University hosted a lecture with Dr. Stephen C. Meyer, director of the Discovery Institute’s Center for Science and Culture in Seattle. Meyer, who received his Ph.D. in the philosophy of science from the University of Cambridge, helped students—both Christians and seekers—understand particular attributes of God: His creation, His omniscience, and His centrality to the story of the natural world.

'Knowledge of God and Self Go Hand in Hand'

“Transformation is the gift of the Christian life,” says Jen Wilkin in a recent talk for The Gospel Coalition.

Psalms Part One Is First Release

By Anne Kerhoulas, Staff Writer

After twenty years of teaching and equipping university students through Bible courses, Christian Union will release its first publicly available Bible study this summer. Published through Tyndale, Christian Union’s study on the Book of Psalms is broken into three parts; The first part (Psalms 1-41) will be released in early August, with parts two and three being offered later this fall.

“Welcome One Another as Christ Has Welcomed Us"

Welcoming people into your home may not seem like a supernatural act, but as Marshall Segal posits in his article for Desiring God, “There’s a spiritual power that pulses through the floors and walls and furniture of a Christian home — a strong, even overpowering aroma, a wild and compelling story unfolding for anyone who comes close enough to hear. Beneath the dirty clothes, behind the unwashed dishes, just below the dusty surfaces, a glory hums and unsettles and woos. A 1,500-square-foot sermon.”

CU Gloria Members Produce DaVinci Play

By Anne Kerhoulas, Staff Writer

“The arts are a powerful tool,” reflects Harvard rising junior LyLena Estabine. They have the power to cross boundary lines, reach into the emotional and spiritual core of a person and leave them changed.

Dear CU Lumine Cornerstone Partners and friends of the ministry,

Greetings from Christian Union Lumine!

Students are presently back home, in summer internships, or taking classes, but I have the privilege of connecting with a few students who are still in the NYC area or on campus.

As a ministry, we will be spending the bulk of time this summer planning for our Pre-Retreat. Pre-Retreat is a time for our Freshman Welcomers and Ministry Leaders to get away, reconnect with God, rekindle friendships, and plan our freshmen welcoming events for incoming freshmen.

Dear CU Vita Cornerstone Partners and friends of the ministry,

We hope you are having a wonderful summer. Our students are enjoying all kinds of experiences all over the world during their summer break and it is a joy to know that they are shining the light of Christ and the glory of God wherever they are.

Dear CU Gloria Cornerstone Partners and friends of the ministry,

Greetings from Cambridge,

I remember my first experience at pre-retreat in our first month on the job in the Fall of 2017. I was blown away as I witnessed dozens of Harvard students worshiping Jesus passionately and praying with an intensity I had rarely seen. I knew immediately this was a special community and that God was doing something spectacular here. I am grateful as I reflect on how the Lord has continued to sustain this love and zeal and spiritual fervor among the CU Gloria students.

Dear CU Nova Cornerstone Partners and friends of the ministry,

God is blessing Christian Union Nova. It’s my prayer that God will continuously bless you as well, showering you with an abundance of His mercy and grace.

On June 29th, I ended a 40-day, one meal-a-day fast that started on May 21st. Our CEO, Matt Bennett encouraged me to press into a season of deep prayer and fasting as we are committed to seeing revival this fall. It is the longest fast I have ever undertaken. My prayers throughout can be summed up by Psalm 105:3-4: “Glory in His holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice! Seek the LORD and his strength; seek His presence continually!”
